Radiology Club Page (Click Here) Upcoming Event: March 2010 Club Contacts: - Nima Kashani: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it - Matt Cooper: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Description:As medical imaging has progressed from the first basic x-ray to today's MRI, CT, and virtual endoscopy, the rapidly evolving field of radiology has proven itself fundamental to the practice of medicine. Appearing all around the hospitals from monitors in the brightly lit operating rooms to the more (romantically) illuminated radiology reporting rooms, accurate interpretation of images that encompass all shades of grey possible is essential for patient care. Regardless of your chosen field of medicine a good understand of radiology will be of importance. The goal of the radiology interest group is twofold. Firstly, to shed some light on the field, both as it is and as it will be, and secondly, to provide instruction to students on how to better interpret images and more appropriately choose imaging studies. We intend to achieve this through guest speaker series where experts in the field will provide an overview of the profession and workshops where students get additional lectures and a chance to try some techniques such as ultrasound hands-on. We also intend to provide educational resources to allow interested students to supplement their education as they see fit. We expect that this year the radiology club will radiate more brightly than ever.
